Performance testing with GPS

OakGPS enables you to, with a GPS and portable computer, analyze your vehicle's performance and behaviour in a large variety of situations.

Analyze a run on a race track. When did I brake? What entry speed did I have in the chicane? How fast did I go on the straight? etc.

Test your vehicles acceleration in different intervals, or find out how fast you travel the classic 1/8 and quarter mile, or other distance of your choice!

Restructuring

I've decided to rewrite TrackView2 from the ground up, and only to use the best parts of the old codebase in a rewritten version. The goal with this version is a greater separation between GUI and data processing. This will hopefully lead to this new version working not only on MS Windows, but also on PocketPC and Linux.

This means that TrackView2 will take time (like it already has)... but hopefully it will be a good program built on a solid base, instead of an early-release built on an old and badly-written base.

In the testversions there is now, among other things, support for exporting the mapview to SVG-format (requires Plug-In (free)):

Map plot on aerial photograph
In the latest development version, TrackView2 draws its plot exactly like the run would have be shown on an aerial photograph.

On the picture below, a run on Gelleråsen has been placed on an aerial photo of the track. This shows how exact the GPS really is!

The screen-shot shows the next generation of TrackView

New generation of OakGPS
A new version of TrackView is on its way. This new version will contain functionality from both OakCalc (which will be discontinued) and old TrackView. The new application will be window-based and contain largely improved versions of the functionality which already exists in the old software, and additional functionality requested by the users of TrackView.

The completed version will (among other things) contain lap and split time calculations, graphical speedometer, and export routines from OakCalc.

The software is now available for download as a demo version. It is far from finished, but will give you an insight in what TrackView2 will look like when it's finished.
